Jeff Cogen named interim chair of the Human Rights Commission

The Human Rights Commission is actually a returning entity. Portland formed a similar commission in 1948, but it was cut from the budget in 2003.
Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen, the interim chairman of the group, opened the meeting with an acknowledgment of the significance of launching the commission on the day following the election of a person of color to the U.S. presidency
