County CROPS passes; farm will be created to feed poor people

Jeff's resolution to create a “County CROPS – Community Reaps Our Produce and Shares,” an agricultural project intended feed hungry people passed with 4 votes; Commissioner McKeel was absent. Check out the news coverage:

Mr. Cogen,
What an excellent idea. AM glad you've advanced this. Food security as well as poverty relief issues tie in here. Criticism about high startup or operational costs could be easily justified if you will consider adding a green training (educational) component which would also employ homeless or jobless low-income people.

I applaud your excellent plan; simple and incredibly difficult at the same time. There are many people who will line up to tell the world that such an idea is not practical and just a few, such as yourselves, who go ahead and make it happen. I am sure you have lots of help, but I look forward to a chance to lend any support I can. May you have all the success in the world.
